I saw someone with a bunch of built-in bookcases around this "painting" that was in this wide open section in the center.
Basically it was one of those "entertainment consoles" and there was a painting in the middle. It was a copy of like, Monet's "Garden" or something similar.
But it wasn't a painting. It was a screened print on acoustically transparent fabric. Behind it was the front sound stage for a 7.2 HT system. The screen was in an auto drop down unit in the overhead part of the big open space. When he would power on the HT system, the screen automagically dropped down, the lights illuminating the painting went off and even the projector dropped down out of the ceiling.
All the surrounds were hidden pretty well too. They were typical in-walls but the grilles were recessed to be flush with the walls and covered in fabric dyed to match the wallpaper exactly.
If all the lights were off and the sun was shining on the painting, you could see the driver array behind it. So he put the lights in the bookcase above to shine on the painting because you couldn't see the drivers behind the acoustic screen when the lights were shining on it, even if the sun was hitting it.
It was pretty impressive in execution even if the speakers were all "home made". One of the most stealthy installs I ever saw. Gave me a few ideas for my own stuff.
