Hope you've got an all tube rig driving those.

Can an SS amp not handle them? Or will they just sound ass-y?

IME, horns and SS gear gets painful on the eardrums.

Sound glorious to me. The A21+ is making them sound amazing to my ears. But I’m just a newb so ‘shrugs’?

The first 6 watts of this amp is Class A and the speakers and super efficient so that combo is killer to me.

I get that. I know they can be VERY LIVELY and dynamic. I had a good friend who had another set of their totl back in early 2000's he also had a pretty powerful Sherwood amp and he loved his loud music. It literally drove me out of the room. I had to seek refuge 😂😂

Haven't heard those in particular. An acquaintance has a set of Lascalas driven by Carver TFM in his large shop. I prefer the machinery sounds accompanying them or with ear plugs.

Lol, who cares what someone else thinks about your rig that they've never heard. How would you compare them to your favorite set of Polks?

Well my first set of Polks were the LSim705’s and they were really good, but the Elac’s destroyed them. These give me what I was missing. Emotion. The Elacs were VERY revealing and accurate. Enjoyed them for a spell and found myself chasing the best recordings.
These have me going back to the music I grew up on and all of it sounds amazing and new. So for ROI these have given me so much more. Not cheap by any stretch, but are going to be with me for quite some time. Love them.

I accidentally bought like 35 Polk speakers once.

Agree with Pittdogg. Your ears are the final say. Will those get feet/spikes? I would be interested in seeing the x-over design if you ever pull them. Enjoy the new rig.

So I’m not sure about spikes. They have a frame made from high grade plywood for the base with some feet (metal) inserted into it. I’ll try and take pics later. Maybe spikes can be swapped for it ? Not sure. here is a screen grab of the crossover. I will not be taking these apart lol. Man I just can’t stop listening to them. They are so engaging

I’m surprised mhardy6647 hasn’t congratulated me on horns?? I was busy, 'K? I do hope that they sound better than the earlier versions of Cornies do/did. They are reputed to.

Given some time now with these, fully broken in I would opine. They are really something else. Low level, ear bleeding level, they are just so engaging. So much range and depth. Very happy with them.

Are you still liking the IV's? I am actually on the fence about getting a pair of either them or the Forte IV. I have heard the Forte III before and I thought they sounded good especially in a bad room at AXPONA.

One is remains most curious about them. They are said to be much, much better than their predecessor Cornwalls.

Loving them more and more as time goes on.
I too heard those Forte’s at Axpona 2019 and was impressed. But the CW’s are leaps ahead IMo.
Very very happy and they sound great at any level. Super quiet or ear bleedingly loud!
They aren’t cheap, but they are so worth it.
