I bought a new Jeep Wrangler last month after driving my truck for 18 1/2 years.

Pictures! What'd you get specifically? Any kind of lift there? Was it brand new? Love Wranglers and their older variations. Buddy of mine in HS had a late 70's CJ7 that we used to drive the absolute shit out of. It took a licking and kept on ticking. I've loved Jeeps ever since.

I drove my truck for 18 1/2 years with almost no trouble. I traded in October for a JEEP. yardcraphome.com/showthread.php?1474-JEEP-WRANGLERWhy a JEEP? No reason just believe everyman should have one at some point. These things have power now, mine can hit the strip - I read a lot. I looked at every JEEP in a hundred miles, picked out those I could live with and printed them out. Jeeps come in three configurations, (Sport, Sahara, Rubicon). Most all options are available on all models, they share the same solid 285 HP motor. I wanted a hard top ($2500 to add later) big wheels (have no idea why except to ride high) and the middle gear ratio (high is to get JEEP on the EPA map for fuel economy and low is all out off road). I wanted Commando Green, but was OK with Black or RED. Looking at them, the SAHARA model was eat up with luxury gear "standard" and the big wheels. I am not an off road guy (I do live back in the woods, but WTF?), so even though JEEP in general was a silly choice for me, Sahara model looked like a best buy. After research I put my bottom line at $30K and headed to the dealer (in Greer) who had the perfect Jeep for me - 60 miles away. The salesman was a really nice Black guy, he is coming over next week to fish. He had Clemson crap on his desk and his kid starts there next year. I showed him print outs of my research, but told him I had to have a tow package for my boat. I had a SPORT model up to visit next in Georgia that was well equipped and a lot less$$. There was an identical JEEP in Black (per window stickers) in Seneca about 15 miles from my house. I wanted green, but not a deal breaker. He took it to his boss and came back with an offer of $30K out the door, tax titles, etc. I took out the back seat and put in a rubber liner so now I have a tiny truck. Here are some of the cars I have owned - Having some photo loading problems - go here if interested: yardcraphome.com/showthread.php?1539-Top-Ten-Cars-of-all-time&p=13485&viewfull=1#post13485.

Congrats on the new Jeep Bill! Hope you will find it as much of a friend as you found your old pickup. I had two jeeps and a Willys wagon in my life, and they all were good vehicles.
